Rankin Rugs may change these Terms of Service without prior notice. Please read these carefully before conducting business with Rankin Rugs. By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service.

These Terms of Service apply to all goods supplied by  Rankin Rugs; they do not affect your statutory rights.

Any order placed by you for goods advertised on our website is considered an offer by you to purchase the goods in your order. No contract exists between you and us until we have received and accepted your order. The notification of receipt is not a confirmation that the order has been accepted. We reserve the right to terminate the contract of sale if the payment for ordered goods is not received in full. All made-to-order pieces are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Shipping charges may apply in addition, these will be displayed and included in the total cost of the piece during the ordering process.

i) All rugs produced by Rankin Rugs are produced on a made-to-order basis and are intricately hand crafted in a small mill in Bulgaria using ancient craftsmanship techniques. Due to the rare and time-consuming nature of the rugs’ production techniques, all rugs require a manufacturing lead time of 4 months minimum, this may be longer depending on the rug size and design complexity. This does not include shipping time. During the manufacturing time, Rankin Rugs will update you of any developments and updates regarding your rug order. We will be in touch at least once via email or phone with an update, and will provide images taken at the mill during the preparation process.

Due to the handmade quality of the rugs all collection pieces are subject to slight variations in design colour and size to the images shown on our website and/or social media channels. Please bear in mind that images are for illustrative purposes only, and due to the handcrafted quality of the pieces, wool colours may vary slightly to the concept images. We are able to share sample tufts during the production process should they be requested. This allows clients to tailor the rug precisely to their needs. If you would like to confirm design colours prior to purchase please contact

ii) All objects and furniture pieces are produced on a made-to-order basis and require a minimum lead time of 5 weeks, this may be longer for custom materials. This does not include shipping time.

iii) All rings are produced on a made-to-order basis and require a minimum lead time of 5 weeks. This does not include shipping time.

We are dedicated to providing our collectors with accurate descriptions and visuals of pieces. Please bear in mind that some pieces advertised by Rankin Rugs are in the form of concept images and 3D renditions, and are for illustrative purposes only. They do their best to reflect the true nature of the pieces, however please allow for slight differences in colour and texture. Given the handcrafted nature of our objects, furniture, rugs and the dying process, please allow for slight differences in colour and/or size between all pieces. This is a reflection of the bespoke ancient craft and the rug's uniqueness. We take every care to ensure that the description and specification of our products are precise, however these are not intended to be binding and are intended only to give a general description of the products. Furthermore, while the colour reproduction of the products is a close representation, we cannot accept any responsibility for any variation in colour caused by the browser software, computer system or electronic device used to view the products. Please be aware that colours may appear more heightened and saturated over a screen and in different light conditions, and that these will vary slightly to the colours produced by the natural dyes.

A Yarn/Sample Card is the best way to see an indication of the colours of your chosen design. Each card has a small swatch of wool or upholstery fabric attached to it, which the rug/chair will be matched to. Viewing the yarn strands from the side of this yarn card (i.e. looking into the ends of the strands) helps simulate cut pile wool. Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, the actual colour and surface texture may differ slightly from the samples. As with all raw materials and natural fibres, minor differences are inevitable. These should not be interpreted as defects but are a reflection of the handcrafted nature of the product.

For custom pieces, clients will be invoiced once sizes and customisation details have been agreed on and the order has been placed. Payment should be made on receipt of the invoice. If your payment fails, your order will be cancelled within 14 days, unless you contact us to specify otherwise. Production of rugs will not commence until payment has been made in full and funds have cleared. Shipping and handling charges are applied per item, unless otherwise agreed. The customer is liable for any applicable customs duties, charges and fees upon arrival of goods to their country. Orders above 10,000 GBP are eligible for split payment, with a 50% deposit required to start the design process, and the remaining balance due before shipment. We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties.

By placing an order with Rankin Rugs you are confirming you have read and agreed to the terms, conditions and delivery times as laid out in writing on this site.  The contract of the sale is bound by the terms laid out in this document. The contract laid out in this document is between Rankin Rugs and yourself, the customer.  In the event of goods shipped to an addressee other than yourself (the customer), we have no contract between ourselves and the end receiver of the goods shipped (your customer). In this case we cannot mediate any aspect of the sale between yourself (the customer) and the end receiver of the goods shipped (your customer).

To offer the best possible service to our clients, we entrust specialist third-party couriers and art handlers to arrange shipment of our pieces. Courier choice will vary depending on the product.

Both standard delivery and a white glove installation service will be available at checkout. Delivery costs will be calculated at checkout and will vary based on the product, the delivery address and the service chosen. For custom orders, cost will be quoted upon or after an order has been placed, and included in the order total shown in the initial invoice or separately prior to shipment.

STANDARD DELIVERY: curbside delivery, our handlers will unload the product and deliver it in front of the address stated.

WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY: our art handlers will unload, unpack, install the product in the room of your choice and remove all rubbish.

As all pieces are made-to-order, dispatch/shipment times and charges will vary between products and delivery address. Please note that these times are indicative and may be delayed or changed; and this cannot be attributed as a disservice. We will not be responsible for delays resulting from postal delays or delays caused by force majeure, holidays or customs. You will receive an information email with the tracking number upon shipment. You can request a preferred delivery date and we will do our best to accommodate this, but unfortunately cannot be guaranteed.

Please note, shipping costs do not include custom duties. You will be liable to pay the appropriate custom charges on the goods as decided by the destination country in addition to the shipping fee. Rankin Rugs is not liable for any additional custom taxes/duties. If the package cannot be delivered, our couriers will hold it and will contact you to arrange a new delivery. If a new delivery is not arranged within three days, the package will be returned to us at client expenses. Should the parcel be refused upon delivery, the shipment will be sent back to us.

Please get in touch with us directly if your shipping region is unavailable at checkout or regarding specific destination requirements and we will supply you with a custom delivery charge if necessary. Delivery will be made to the delivery address specified on the invoice, and/or as confirmed upon order, or separately agreed by email. Should you wish to change the delivery address after goods have been dispatched, we will require you to cover the redirection charges. Please be aware that the redirection approval is subject to your order status.

Products are fully insured during shipment. Rankin Rugs retains ownership of all items until they have been paid for in full and delivered to the destination address. Once your goods have been delivered, the risk of damage or loss of the item passes to the recipient.

In the unlikely event that you receive a damaged product, you should notify us in writing at within 24 hours of receipt of the goods. Any claims made after 24 hours will not be accepted. Please provide photographic evidence of the damage. Depending on the nature of the fault at hand, we may arrange a courier collection of the damaged item. Once we receive the item at our studio, we will examine the goods and verify the damage. You will be responsible for paying for the return shipping costs in full, including any related taxes or custom duties associated with the return. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping and custom charges will be deducted from your refund. All prior shipping and custom charges are non-refundable. Shipping and custom charges for any replacements will be charged to the customer.

Please note that we reserve the right to refuse and not to proceed with a refund or a return at any time.

All pieces are bespoke and made-to-order, and are not eligible for return/exchange or cancellation. All sales are final.

If you are eligible for a refund, we will refund you via the method of payment you used when you originally paid for your order. It is your responsibility to advise us of any changes to your payment method. Please bear in mind that it might take a few days for your bank or credit card company to process the refund. Any and all bank charges relating to payments of refunds shall be borne by the client and deducted from the final refund payment.

The refund amount will be the total amount you have paid for the particular order, or a fraction of this depending on the nature of the fault at hand, minus any and all charges associated with the return and refund of the original order. This includes but is not limited to shipping charges, custom duties and bank charges. The refund will amount to no more than the amount which was invoiced to you during the order process.
