PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE CONDUCTING BUSINESS WITH RANKIN RUGS.
Terms & Conditions of Sale
Rankin Rugs may change these Terms & Conditions without prior notice.
1.Terms of the Contract
These Terms & Conditions apply to all goods supplied by Rankin Rugs; they do not affect your statutory rights.
Any order placed by you for goods advertised on our website is considered an offer by you to purchase the goods in your order. No contract exists between you and us until we have received and accepted your order. The notification of receipt is not a confirmation that the order has been accepted. We reserve the right to terminate the contract of sale if the payment for ordered goods is not received in full.
2.Description of Goods and Manufacturing Process
All rugs produced by Rankin Rugs are intricately hand crafted in a small mill in Bulgaria using ancient craftsmanship techniques. All rugs require a manufacturing lead time of 3-4months, dependent on size and complexity of design. This does not include shipping time. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, lead times may be slightly longer. During the manufacturing time, Rankin Rugs will update you of any developments and updates regarding your rug order. We will be in touch at least once via email or phone with an update, and will provide images taken at the mill during the preparation process. Customers will be informed if this is the case. Due to the handmade quality of the rugs all collection pieces are subject to slight variations in design colour and size to the images shown on our website and/or social media channels. We have taken every care to describe and show all items as accurately as possible. We are able to share sample tufts during the production process should they be requested. This allows clients to tailor the rug precisely to their needs. If you would like to confirm design colours prior to purchase please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please bear in mind that all rugs advertised by Rankin Rugs are in the form of concept images and 3D renditions, and are for illustrative purposes only. They do their best to reflect the true nature of the rugs, however please allow for slight differences in colour and texture. Given the handcraft nature of the rugs and the dying process, please allow for slight differences in colour and/or size between all pieces. This is a reflection of the bespoke ancient craft and the rug's uniqueness. We take every care to ensure that the description and specification of our products are precise. However, specifications and descriptions of products on this website are not intended to be binding and are intended only to give a general description of the products. Furthermore, while the colour reproduction of the products is a close representation, we cannot accept any responsibility for any variation in colour caused by the browser software or computer system used to view the products. Please be aware that colours may appear more heightened and saturated over a screen, and that these will vary slightly to the colours produced by the natural dyes.
A Yarn Card is the best way to see an indication of the colours of your chosen design. Each card has a small swatch of wool attached to it, which the rug will be matched to. Viewing the yarn strands from the side of this yarn card (i.e. looking into the ends of the strands) helps simulate cut pile wool. Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, the actual colour and surface texture may differ slightly from this yarn card. As with all raw materials and natural fibres, minor differences are inevitable. These should not be interpreted as defects but are a reflection of the handcrafted nature of the product.
Once the details of the rug have been agreed on and the order has been placed, clients will be invoiced for their order. If your payment fails, your order will be cancelled within 14 days, unless you contact us to specify otherwise. Production of rugs will not commence until payment has been made in full and funds have cleared. Shipping and handling charges are applied per item, unless otherwise agreed, and included in the order total shown in the invoice. The customer is liable for any applicable customs duties, charges and fees upon arrival of goods to their country. Orders above 7000 GBP are
eligible for split payment, and a 50% deposit is required to start the design process, with the remaining balance due before shipment.
We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.
We organise all shipping and we currently deliver worldwide - please get in touch with us directly to let us know of your destination requirements and we will supply you with a delivery charge. For deliveries within the UK we offer a white glove delivery and installation service. If you are not based in the UK but require white glove delivery, please get in touch and Rankin Rugs will try to arrange this. If the goods are to be shipped to an address outside the EU, you will be liable to pay the appropriate custom charges on the goods as decided by the destination country. Rankin Rugs is not liable for these duties.
Delivery will be made to the Delivery Address specified on the invoice, and as confirmed upon order or separately agreed by email. Should you wish to change the delivery address after goods have been dispatched, we will require you to cover the redirection charges. Please be aware that the redirection approval is subject to your order and account status.
Rankin Rugs retains ownership of all items until they have been paid for in full and delivered to the destination address. Once your goods have been delivered, the risk of damage or loss of the item passes to the recipient.
Due to the bespoke and made to order nature of the rugs, Rankin Rugs does not offer a return policy, unless the rug is damaged on arrival.
7.Item(s) Damaged on Arrival
In the unlikely event that you receive a damaged product, you should notify us in writing at email@example.com within 24 hours of receipt of the goods. Please provide photographic evidence of the damage. Depending on the nature of the fault at hand, we will arrange a courier collection of the damaged item. Once we receive the item at our studio, we will examine the goods and verify the damage as per the photographic evidence.
If you are eligible for a refund, we will refund you via the method of payment you used when you originally paid for your order. The refund amount will be the total amount you have paid for the particular order or a fraction of this, depending on the nature of the fault at hand, and will amount to no more than the amount which was invoiced to you during the the order process. Any and all bank charges relating to payments of refunds shall be borne by the client and deducted from the final refund payment. Please note: it is your responsibility to advise us of any changes to your payment method.
